Registration for the language course
You can register in person, in writing, or online. With the signing of the agreement to participate in the language course by the student, the registration is binding. You can only take part in a language course after binding the registration. When registering, the course fee must be paid online on our website.
General information about the language course
One class hour corresponds to 45 minutes. The costs for textbooks, teaching materials, and telc exams are not included in the course fees. In case of a course cancellation due to the teacher’s illness, the missed class units will be made up at a later date. The certificate of participation will only be issued with a 75% attendance. All course times provided on the website are non-binding as they are tentative schedules.
Cancellation of the language course
The registration for the courses is binding. Cancellation must be made in writing using our cancellation form. If the participant does not receive the visa to participate in the language course or preparatory course, the fees paid will be reimbursed. The following cancellation fees apply:
- The costs for language classes or/and preparatory course will be charged and deducted from the deposit for participation in the online language courses (when the participation in the online courses starts or the confirmation of enrollment was made)
- The service fee of 1500€ is not refundable under any circumstances
Following documents are required for the reimbursment: - The letter of rejection from the embassy
- A copy of the passport with all relevant pages
- A return of all original documents that were given to the participant to apply for a visa including the final admission
Any costs incurred will be deducted from the deposit paid (courier fees, bank charges, complaint fees etc.). Refunds will be made within 12 weeks from the date the cancellation form was received.
For any other cancellation reasons the following fees apply:
- 20% – 90 days before the start of the course, which is mentioned in the student agreement
- 50% 30 days before the start of the course, which is mentioned in the student agreement
- No refund – less than 30 days before the start of the course, which is mentioned in the student agreement. The percentage is calculated from the total fee.
The service fee of 1500€ is not refundable under any circumstances.
Once the visa is received, the fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
Refunds will be made in 8-12 weeks from the date of the cancellation form is received.
Course rescheduling
The course rescheduling is free of charge if done 30 days before the course starts. If the course rescheduling is done less than 30 days before the course starts, a fee of 150 euros will be charged. The course can only be rescheduled once.
Right of withdrawal
The student has the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days after its conclusion without giving any reasons.
The withdrawal must be made in writing:

All payments made by you will be refunded immediately within 14 days after the receipt of the withdrawal declaration. If there are less than 14 days between the conclusion of the agreement and the start of the course, the right of withdrawal will end at the beginning of the course.
Course rescheduling and change in the number of teaching hours
The IISC e.V. is entitled to reschedule or cancel a course if the minimum number of participants is not reached. Course fees will be refunded if the student waits for the course for more than two months. The minimum number of participants is 8 students. If there are only 5 participants registered, the total number of course hours will be reduced.
Telc exams
Registration can be done in person or online. The registration will be considered as soon as we have received the examination fee. The registration period for telc exams is 14 days before the exam date. Registrations received after the 14-day period are considered to be past the deadline. For registrations received outside the deadline, you have the option to submit a cancellation request within 7 days. In the event of canceling the exam registration, you can either choose to reschedule for the next available exam date or request a refund, which will be processed within 30 days. Please indicate your preferred option when making the request. If you are ill on the day of the exam, you are entitled to a one-time postponement of the date. In this case, a medical certificate must be presented to us on the day of the exam. In the case of late submission, the right to postponement is invalid. Please note that illness under no circumstances entitles you to a refund. In case of illness, we will automatically postpone your exam date to the next month. The exam fee is paid online on our website.
When registering for the telc exam, the student agrees to the applicable exam regulations of telc gGmbH. Any attempt at cheating leads to the examination board and the examination performance is declared invalid.
You can only cancel an exam that has been booked in due time up to 30 days before the exam date at the latest. Thereafter, a refund of the fees is excluded. The cancellation must be made in writing.
Cancellation of the exam, which was booked within the specified deadline, is ONLY possible up to 30 days before the exam date. After that, a refund of the fees is not possible. The cancellation must be made in writing.
Consumer dispute resolution
Notice according to § 36 Consumer Dispute Resolution Act (VSBG):
We do not participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board within the meaning of the VSBG and are not obligated to do so.
Applicable law
German law applies.
